About Patan

Patan is a small town of Madhya Pradesh. A part of Jabalpur district, the city has emerged as a hub of grains-trading in the region. Geographically Patan is located at 22.53°North and  79.42°East. It has an average elevation of 652 metres (2139 feet). The town experiences sub tropical climate. Bagheli and Hindi are spoken by the people in this part of Madhya Pradesh.

The city of Patan is located about 30 km away from Jabalpur and connects the two districts of Jabalpur and Damoh. The town has a total population of 13215 people according to the 2002 census of India. The average literacy rate in the town is 66%.

The economy of Patan depends much on agricultural productions. The land of the region is very fertile and is perfect for growing various crops. The town is also a hub for grain trading and and many grain traders visit the town to buy wheat, grams, pulses and soybean and other major agricultural items.
